Welcome to Therapair—Australia's first inclusive therapist-matching platform. Here's everything you need to know to get started.

Full client matching is rolling out with early access. Until then, join the client waitlist so we can notify you when your turn opens and share the sandbox preview when it is available to you.

A collaboration
Therapair is an independent platform created in collaboration with Unison Mental Health and Prequel Experience Design. Unison brings clinical and day-to-day operational experience from running mental health services. Prequel brings healthcare product strategy and design. Together we are building a respectful, practical way to improve first contact—not a replacement for professional judgement or crisis care.

How do I update my listing?
You can update your listing directly through your profile. Access your profile using the link sent to your email, or visit Manage Your Profile to request access. Changes are typically processed immediately or within 24 hours.
How do I remove my listing?
You can remove your listing directly from your profile. Access your profile using the link sent to your email, or visit Manage Your Profile. Your listing will be removed from the live platform immediately, with complete data deletion within 7 days.
Do I have to pay?
Not during research and early access. Early registrants receive 12 months from registration at no charge while we validate the product with you. Future optional paid features are not priced yet—we are still in user research. Before any fee could apply, we will give reasonable advance notice. See Therapist Terms (Fees & Compensation).
Will I get client referrals?
We cannot guarantee specific numbers. Client inquiries depend on your specialization, location, our client traffic, and matching algorithm. Our goal is 3-5 quality inquiries per week for active practitioners, but this is a target, not a guarantee.

What is Therapair?
Therapair is a therapist-matching platform that helps you find mental health practitioners who truly understand your unique needs and identities. We go beyond location and specialty to match based on therapeutic approach, values, lived experience, and identity factors like LGBTQ+ affirming care, neurodiversity support, and cultural competency.
Is Therapair free to use?
During research and early access, there is no charge to use the matching flow or to be listed. Therapist early registrants get 12 months from registration at no charge (see Therapist Terms). We may introduce optional paid practitioner tools later; pricing is not set, and we will notify you in advance before anything could apply to you.
How does the matching algorithm work?
Our matching logic weighs many factors beyond location and specialty—including identity-related preferences where you share them, values, therapeutic approach, communication style, session format (in-person vs. online), and urgency. It produces a short list of practitioners for you to review; you always choose who to contact. As we learn from use and feedback, we refine weighting and rules—see Strategy & Roadmap for where the product is headed.
Are therapists verified?
We verify AHPRA registration for psychologists and check professional body membership (PACFA, ACA, APS) for counsellors and psychotherapists. However, we're a directory service, not a credentialing authority—we encourage you to independently verify qualifications and registrations before beginning therapy.
Is my information private?
Yes. Your quiz responses are private and not shared with therapists unless you choose to contact them. You can complete the quiz anonymously (no email required). We comply with Australian Privacy Act 1988 and treat mental health information with heightened protection. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
What makes Therapair different from Psychology Today?
Large directories often mean scrolling through many profiles. Therapair focuses on a short, relevance-ranked shortlist from your responses, inclusive-by-design signals (LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, culturally safe care), and an Australian context (AHPRA-aware, NDIS-aware framing). The experience is mobile-first and built for clarity on fit—not generic search alone.
How do I remove my information?
For therapists: Use the secure link we send you by email when we onboard or update your listing. If you have lost it, contact us from your practice email and we will help. See Consent & Removal for policy and timeframes (listing removal promptly; complete deletion as described there).
For clients: Use Privacy Request to ask for access or deletion of quiz responses or contact details—we process requests as set out in our privacy materials.
